A Meme, A Comment, and Conversation
BTW, this meme was created as a sharable spell for peace, so please feel free to copy and share, if you like. Labradorite absorbs negativity. You can imagine giving it your sorrow, even the conflict on the planet, and letting the stone transmute all to peace.
I used a closeup of labradorite to make the meme above and published it on my Facebook Pages (Janus Blume and My Conservative Values). FB friend Jim responded and I answered back. I thought we made some good points. See what you think.
Jim: It’s a major contributor to wars and murder. Witches were considered a threat to cities.
Janus: Yes, and cities were a threat to Witches, displacing the woodlands to grow the herbs to heal, building up the fear that led to a world locked in a prison of the ‘dominator’ mindset with its associated tragedies. Those who ruled over cities, (and cities and more cities through violent conquest) replaced the nature spirits with sky gods.
Not all at once, of course. The Power of the Old Ones spoke through the tales of gods and goddesses with bodies, It wasn’t a simple, straightforward story, of how religion came to be. It’s every bit as complex as human migration and genetics. But in time, those who were winning the crowns and extending the empires found that they could supplant the peoples’ longing for their own sacred connection with nature and the Mother of All.
The interweaving still exists, as shown in the Hierophant card in the tarot, with layers of meaning from the most orthodox to the most sublime. The people want the vibration. OM. It’s available. So where’s the gap? (Sorry. II didn’t know that was coming, but I didn’t want to stop it. What do I know? That’s how the world looks to me, and it was feeling channelled).
Do you have any thoughts about this? It may seem strange to publish this three days before Christmas, but we Pagan/syncretics think deeply about these things. Just as the Catholics were ready to celebrate local holidays, I too can honor the Absolute through the lens of Christianity and its stories. It feels right on topic to me, especially since my practices no longer exclude any gods. Celebrating light in the darkness works for me, in many forms.
Before you go, I have a request. Would you please take a moment to leave your contact information here for me? I have so many people to keep in touch with, and you guys are here and there all over the place. I would love to start collecting everyone in one place, so when I have something to share with y’all, I can send it once and know it’s there for anyone who’s interested.
Blessed Be.
